This artwork titled “Our Journey, Spirit and Growth” visually captures Anglicare’s commitment to the Reconciliation journey.
At the centre of the piece is Anglicare, surrounded by staff members who form the working group leading the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) throughout the organisation.
Anglicare’s Reconciliation Action Plan journey weaved in the foreground through the centre connects the four pillars of our RAP Respect, Relationships, Opportunities and Governance. The pathway weaving through the centre of the artwork represent our Past, Present and Future. We must learn from our past, look at our present and plan for the future.
Anglicare holds strong to the vision of delivering services through the following vision principles see Jesus Christ Honoured, Lives Enriched and Communities Strengthened which are represented by three smaller motifs. Anglicare values Justice, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence are represented by four large motifs.
Two ring circles in the artwork depict Anglicare’s extensive services supporting people at all life stages across New South Wales. Connecting lines illustrate the bonds these services create within the community. The white stars spread throughout symbolise the spirit and the sharing of Jesus’s love with the communities they serve.
At the top and bottom of the artwork, Anglicare’s dioceses in the Sydney Metro, South Coast, and New England Regions, including Sydney, Nowra, and Tamworth, are highlighted. Surrounding these regions, Anglicare staff are depicted connecting with communities through listening, learning, and truth-telling. By genuinely listening to and learning from First Nations voices, we can build a stronger future for everyone.
Anglicare’s commitment to a more reconciled future is at the heart of “Our Journey, Spirit, and Growth.”
